Would You Marry At First Sight?
Six young South Africans, taking part in an epic television event, have married complete strangers handpicked for them by a team of experts in the local version of the international hit series Married At First Sight.
The brave singles met each other for the first time at their wedding ceremony and now have six weeks, with specialists nurturing their new relationships, to decide whether they’re going to stay together forever or separate. Hundreds of South Africans signed up to take part in Married At First Sight, which is produced by Oxyg3n Media.
After extensive research and analysis, a team of specialists and the fully trained production team then whittled down the numbers to pair up three men and three women who were the most compatible in every aspect of their lives. These are the singles who put their trust in the process and met their match for the first time at the altar:
Tshepo Mabe (27) – An engineering intern from Rustenburg, Tshepo is a sports fan who loves the outdoors and being active. She enjoys spending time with her family, going to markets and having braais with friends. Tshepo studied metallurgy and is completing her post grad in risk management while working as an intern.
Ferdinand Fester (24) – This blader from Germiston is a hardworking man enjoys who enjoys a healthy lifestyle by working out at the gym and competing in strongman competitions. He also enjoys cooking and is looking for that someone special with whom to enjoy meals.
Lihle Buthelezi (26) – A personal assistant from Southgate, Lihle is a determined woman who knows what she wants in life. She has been accepted to study BAcc in Financial Accounting at UNISA this year, lives an active lifestyle and practises meditation. She also enjoys exploring the trendy parts of Johannesburg in her spare time.
Kay-Leigh Els (30) – This project co-ordinator from Fourways is family orientated, strong-willed and compassionate. She is an animal lover and volunteers at the SPCA, and enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.
