Wedge Some Spice Into Your Dinner!
Trying to find something delicious and simple to cook for dinner on a Friday night is probably the last thing on your mind …
Why not switch things up and add a little spice to your Friday night dinners with the new limited edition McCain Spicy Wedges? They’re the perfect big bite, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with a combined paprika and herb spices seasoning. Everyone loves a good potato chip, but a wedge brings something a little different to the table and can be served with your family’s favourite foods: ribs and wedges, marinated chicken and wedges, a delicious steak and wedges, Pregos and wedges – the list goes on.
Cooking time: 16 to 18 minutes in the oven or five and a half minute of frying. Dinner will be ready in under 20 minutes.
If you have no idea what you can make, I suggest:
Steak Prego Rolls

4 steaks or frying steaks
15 ml olive oil
Salt and pepper to season
15 ml olive oil
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
3 tbsp. fresh oregano, chopped
3 tbsp. fresh parsley, chopped
6 tomatoes, blanched and finely chopped
3 tbsp. tomato purée
3 tbsp. brown sugar
4 tbsp. butter
2 onions, sliced
2 tomatoes, finely chopped
Handful fresh coriander, chopped
2 cups lettuce
4 toasted Portuguese rolls
Sides:
McCain Spicy Wedges
Method
First off, heat a grill pan until scorching hot. Rub the steaks with olive oil and fry for about 30 seconds each side.
For the Prego sauce: Heat the olive oil in a saucepan and sauté the garlic and chilli. Add the herbs, tomatoes, purée and sugar. Simmer for 30 minutes. Heat the butter and sauté the onions on high heat. Add a little bit of water, lower the heat and allow to caramelise. Set aside. Add the chopped tomatoes and coriander in a bowl and mix it through. Build your steak sandwiches with a layer of lettuce on a toasted bun.
The next time you walk down the frozen food aisle, keep a lookout for the new McCain Spicy Wedges and take the work out of Friday night dinner decisions.
