The Right Way To Brush Your Teeth
Are you brushing your teeth properly? With Valentine’s Day only a month away, now is the perfect time to practise – especially if you’re gunning for that kiss from the love of your life or a potential crush.
If you didn’t know your teeth need to be brushed at least twice per day for two minutes at a time, you have a serious problem. At the very least, you should brush your teeth first thing in the morning and before you go to bed at night.
Step 1: Check if you have a toothbrush and toothpaste. If not, purchase these now! Apply a pea-sized amount of your toothpaste onto your toothbrush and brush your teeth in a circular motion. There’s no need to use any water until you have to rinse.
Step 2: Make sure you have a mirror in front of you to help you see what you’re doing. Divide your mouth into sections (top left, bottom left, top right, bottom right, top front, bottom front) and try to reach all parts of the teeth when brushing (front, back, bottom).
Step 3: Pressing your toothbrush onto your teeth doesn’t make the brushing more effective. Be as gentle as possible with your toothbrush.
Step 4: Don’t forget to brush your tongue for at least 10 to 15 seconds.
