Ted Baker Hits The Mother City
Always keen for a good adventure, Ted loves to explore the British countryside; hiking, rock climbing, you name it he’s done it. This time, he has set off on an adventure up the famous Table Mountain.
Ted Baker is proud to announce the opening of a second bespoke store in South Africa. The 1 606-square foot space within the V&A Mall in Cape Town, will house Ted’s SS16 menswear, womenswear and accessories collections. Inside the space, wall elevations reflect rock fragmented walls, with props of his favourite rock climbing and walking equipment brought over from England. Brightly coloured rods are suspended from the ceiling with elastics wrapped around.
As you journey through the store, you’re taken on an adventure up the mountain. The back of the store emulates the top of Table Mountain, inviting you to venture back down on the cable car. The fitting rooms are designed to appear as individual cable-car pods, with a swing door and seat inside.
The cash desk is reminiscent of an old ticket kiosk that has been inspired by a vintage office from the mountain itself, with a backdrop of the rolling British countryside so Ted doesn’t ever feel too far away from home.
